Microsoft released Office 2019 But Urges Customers Not to Buy It
Yes ! You heard right. Microsoft recently launched office 2019 standalone version but Microsoft’s attitude towards Office 2019 standalone version has been downright hostile. Microsoft urges customers to not buy Office 2019 standalone and prefer office 365 because Office 365 is superior.
Microsoft corporate vice president Jared Spataro explains, “There’s a lot of difference between the Microsoft Office 365 and Office 2019. Office 365 plans includes fully installed Office applications which includes the latest versions of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. And these office apps keep getting better over time, with new capabilities, and features delivered every month. Office 365 is cloud based subscription service, so you can access your content from any device and any place, collaborate and coauthor with anyone in real-time, and use the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to create more impactful content with less effort.”
By comparison, the Office 2019 application suite is “frozen in time,” because it never gets updated with new capabilities and features and is not cloud based.

Microsoft showcased three videos labeled ” The Twin Challenge” to test this claim. The firm pitted Office 365 and Office 2019 against each other in a head-to-head showdown, challenging three sets of twins to complete the same tasks in both versions of office 365 & standalone office 2019 Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The resulting videos are pretty interesting. The similarity in the results of all assigned tasks is how easily the twin using Office 365 completes the task using AI-powered assistance, as opposed to the twin struggling to manually complete their task with Office 2019.
